Job summary

College of Southern Nevada is seeking part-time High School Equivalency (HSE) instructors to prepare adult learners for GED/HiSET exams and postsecondary paths. Classes run 8–10 weeks, with morning or evening sessions, in Las Vegas Valley locations.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree and experience teaching Basic through intermediate math, reading, and writing, or HSE prep. Familiarity with TABE, CASAS, and WorkKeys is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Experience teaching Basic through intermediate level math, reading, writing or High School Equivalency testing preparation.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Basic Skills, Pre-HSE, and HSE Preparation.
• Teaching HSE/GED/HiSET Preparation: reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Maintaining and submitting accurate student records (syllabi, attendance, weekly lesson plans).
• Motivating students to complete educational goals beyond a basic education.
• Communicating and working with colleagues on course offerings and programs.
