Cincinnati Opera is seeking a hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead recruitment, payroll, benefits, and policy administration in a small, seasonal organization. The role partners with senior leadership to balance strategic and administrative duties and maintain a compliant HR function.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of HR experience, knowledge of federal and Ohio employment laws, and strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Qualificações

• Five to seven years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
• Knowledge of federal and Ohio employment laws and HR practices.
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and HR reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple HR functions independently.
• Experience with a unionized or seasonal workforce is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leaders.
• Advise on compensation planning, workforce design, and staffing changes.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Oversee payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with laws.
• Collaborate with shared-services and external providers.
• Develop and deliver HR policies and training.
