Job summary

Intersect HealthCare in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for the first shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM). You will clean and sanitize the facility, interact professionally with residents, visitors, and staff, and follow infection control procedures.

Responsibilities include floor care, dusting, waste disposal, following schedules, documenting room cleans, maintaining supplies, and upholding HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of cleaning devices and chemical cleaning solutions.
• Able to perform basic math calculations.
• Effective communication with elderly residents, staff and visitors.
• Dependable and able to work independently or under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care: stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping.
• Dust horizontal surfaces and refill dispensers daily.
• Collect and transport trash and contaminated waste.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Follow infection control procedures and precautions for isolation rooms.
• Assist with cleanup of blood spills and bodily fluids under nurse direction.
• Clean and organize resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Document room cleans and deep cleans upon completion.
• Use, clean, and store equipment and supplies safely.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and report concerns.
