Job Description: Part-time (12‑month, ≤999 hours per year) custodial position responsible for maintaining cleanliness of university‑owned buildings.

Essential Functions

• Vacuum & spot clean carpet areas, dust/mop & wetmop all floors; may use automatic scrubber.
• Remove trash.
• Clean & sanitize restrooms.
• Wash windows & walls.
• Clean furniture: cleaning, dust removal & spot cleaning.
• Dust all flat surfaces – vents, cove bases, door vents, light fixtures etc.
• Replace smoke alarm batteries, light bulbs and perform monthly inspection of fire extinguishers.
• Provide custodial cleaning for summer projects, fill‑ins, rentals and other areas when required.
• Perform other duties deemed appropriate.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; noise level can be loud.

Physical Demands

Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours; lifts up to 35 lbs and may lift, raise or lower an object from one level to another up to 35 lbs; can carry/transport an object weighing up to 35 lbs; climbs stairs and ladders.

Position Type

Part‑time, non‑benefited 12‑month position; general hours flexible and coordinated with department needs and employee availability.
