The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Cook I to support our on-campus food service at the downtown Iowa City campus. Under direct supervision, you’ll follow standardized recipes to prepare a variety of dishes, assist with staff training, and ensure sanitation and safety standards.

Schedule is 11:00am-7:00pm, with variation and every other weekend; part-time, on campus. Eligible candidates read, write, and follow instructions; background checks and credential verification apply.

Formación

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Self-disclose any conviction history; background check required.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow recipes.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares and cooks meats, fish, vegetables, gravies, cereals, soups and other foods.
• Cooks food for special diets from approved recipes.
• Assists in on‑the‑job training and directs food service staff.
• Assists in salad and dessert preparation.
• Notifies supervisor of needed food and supplies; maintains records.
• Cleans kitchen, utensils and equipment; secures cold storage.
• Serves food as required; maintains sanitation and safety.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
