Job summary

Kettering Health Troy is seeking an Environmental Service Worker II for part-time, first-shift coverage. This role supports patient- and staff-facing cleaning, sterilization of sterile areas, and routine facility tasks in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include following safety guidelines, operating cleaning and laundry equipment, and ensuring proper waste handling. Strong customer service, English literacy, and dependable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of housekeeping and/or service-related field.
• Floor care experience.
• Able to lift/push/pull 10lbs to 25lbs daily.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service towards staff and patients.
• Knowledge of reading, writing and understanding English instructions.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Strong communication skills, good attitude and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Follow verbal and written safety guidelines.
• Perform required cleaning functions for designated work area.
• Document all daily assignments.
• Flexibility due to changes in schedule and/or staff shortages.
• Demonstrate proper use of PPE in all aspects of the job.
• Report any equipment issues to appropriate person or department.
• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Record keeping and equipment storage.
• Regular and hazardous waste handling and operating waste processing equipment.
• Sterile area cleaning such as Operating rooms, sterile processing, and MRI.
• Deliver supplies to correct locations.
• Operate laundry equipment and manage curtains.
• Various utility duties as assigned.
