Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a part-time honey bee research support member to assist with research activities involving honey bees and honey. You will help conduct experiments, collect data, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and graduate students in both laboratory and field settings.

Ideal candidates will have beekeeping interest, excellent organizational/communication skills, and the ability to follow experimental protocols.

Qualifications

• Beekeeping experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in laboratory and field settings.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow experimental protocols.
• Proficient computer skills (online meetings, word processing, spreadsheets, data sharing).

Responsibilities

• Conduct observations and experiments involving honey bees and/or honey
• Conduct laboratory and/or field assays and data collection
• Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate students on research projects
• Maintain accurate records of experimental data and assist with data interpretation
• Help maintain a clean and organized work environment in laboratory and/or field settings
