Job summary

Visiting Angels Midtown is seeking a Part Time Home Care Aide (HCA) to support clients across Elk Grove and surrounding Sacramento areas. You will assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship in clients' homes, following individual care plans.

We offer flexible shifts, weekly pay, and opportunities for training and advancement. Must pass background checks, have a valid California driver's license, and COVID vaccination as required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and legally able to work in the US.
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with proof.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting.
• Negative TB screening within the last 90 days.
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assisting with light physical activity or walks.
• Planning and preparing meals with clients.
• Handling light housekeeping duties.
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents.
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips.
• Reminding clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments/errands.

As a Visiting Angels Part Time Home Care Aide (HCA), you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

Part Time Home Care Aide (HCA) Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the US
• Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot record
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
• Must be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notes
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprinting
• Have a negative TB screening within the last 90 days
• Registered on the California Home Care Aide Registry
