Job summary

Asheville Community Movement in Asheville, NC is seeking a Part-Time Recreational Gymnastics Instructor to inspire young athletes and lead classes in a safe, fun environment.

You will follow lesson plans, supervise safety, track progress, and help train new staff while maintaining gym cleanliness. The role requires enthusiasm for kids, at least 1 year of coaching, and a Standard First-Aid Certification.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of gymnastics coaching experience.
• Standard First-Aid Certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise gymnastics classes for children of various ages and skill levels.
• Ensure safety by proper spotting, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
• Arrive prepared, wear appropriate coaching attire, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Track student progress with attendance, assessments, and timesheets.
• Collaborate with the gym manager on schedules and performance reviews.
• Maintain cleanliness of the gym, bathrooms, lobby, and offices.
• Assist in training new instructors through shadowing and guidance.

Are you passionate about gymnastics and love working with kids? Asheville Community Movement, located in beautiful Asheville, NC, is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Recreational Gymnastics Instructor to join our team. If you’re ready to inspire young gymnasts, help them grow, and create a safe and fun environment, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Gymnastics Instructor, you’ll play a key role in shaping the skills, confidence, and love for gymnastics in our young athletes. Here’s what your role will include:

• Leading and supervising gymnastics classes for children of various ages and skill levels, following lesson plans provided by the Head Coach.
• Ensuring safety by using proper equipment practices, spotting techniques, and emergency procedures, while adapting equipment for each gymnast’s age, ability, and size.
• Fostering a positive and engaging environment by arriving on time, wearing appropriate coaching attire, and maintaining an encouraging attitude.
• Tracking student progress by completing attendance, assessments, and timesheets in a timely manner.
• Collaborating with the gym manager to discuss teaching schedules and gymnast performance on a weekly basis.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the gym, including bathrooms, lobby, and office spaces, on a rotating basis.
• Assisting in training new instructors through shadowing and guidance.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who:

• Loves working with kids and has a passion for gymnastics.
• Has at least 1 year of experience in gymnastics coaching or a related role.
• Is physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing activities such as spotting, pulling, lifting, crouching, balancing, and climbing.
• Communicates effectively and personably with parents, staff, and students.
• Holds a Standard First-Aid Certification and is prepared to administer first aid if necessary.
