Job summary

School of Rock Tucson is seeking a passionate Guitar Teacher and instructor to inspire the next generation of players and performers. We’re a performance-driven school where students play real shows at Tucson venues and grow their live performance skills.

You’ll be hired as a W-2 employee with payroll taxes handled, workers’ comp, unemployment eligibility, and up to 40 hours of Arizona-paid sick time per year. Flexible scheduling and a collaborative music-first team await.

Qualifications

• Strong guitar proficiency with solid music theory and technique knowledge.
• Teaching experience preferred (private lessons, band coaching, group instruction).
• Comfortable across styles - rock, blues, classic rock, acoustic, and beyond.
• Works well with children, teens, and adults of all skill levels.
• Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player.
• Performance experience a plus; additional instruments (bass, keys, vocals) a bonus

Responsibilities

• One-on-one guitar instruction for students of all ages and skill levels
• Personalized lesson plans covering technique, theory, and song-based learning
• Teach chords, scales, improvisation, electric and acoustic styles
• Prepare students for live performances and shows
• Track progress and communicate with parents and staff
• Support rehearsals, camps, and band programs as needed
