Job summary

Weatherford College is seeking an Adjunct (general education) to join the part-time faculty pool for general education courses. The position is a continuous recruitment, with selection from the pool as needs arise for the academic year.

Primary duties include teaching courses, mentoring students, and facilitating learning across face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities. Applicants must meet the education requirements listed, and transcripts or licenses should be submitted.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or 2–5 years work experience in the field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or 6–10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Master’s degree and/or 11–15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
• Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
• At least 3 years experience in the communications field or 3 years teaching experience.
• Doctorate
• Three years professional radio/television experience

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and mentorship to students in and outside of the classroom.
• Create and maintain an effective learning environment in all modalities.
• Engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback, and respond to student communications promptly.
• Assess student performance, submit final grades in a timely fashion, and complete required training.
• Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, and perform related duties as assigned.
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment.
• All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
