Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience teaching adults in Spanish and GED/HSE prep.
• Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office; ability to learn LMS quickly.
• Knowledge of instructional techniques to adapt instruction to student needs.
• BA in Education or related field.
• Two years of formal adult education instructional experience.
• ABEA certification or willingness to obtain within two years.
• Knowledge of adult education theory.
• Experience with standard educational assessment tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct classroom instruction including one-on-one tutoring in math/science or language arts/social studies to adults using the High School Equivalency curriculum.
• Demonstrated knowledge of content.
• Foster a supportive learning environment and connect instruction to careers and higher education.
• Collaborate with lead teaching staff on curriculum, materials, testing and evaluation; assist with lesson planning.
• Create individualized educational plans based on learning needs and goals.
• Fulfill testing, record-keeping, and reporting responsibilities.
• Use industry standard software to track progress and analyze data.
• Participate in staff professional development and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
