Part-Time Forklift Technician Instructor

Position Overview

Cross Credit Industrial is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Part-Time Forklift Technician Instructor to support the development and delivery of a new Forklift Technician Program. This position is responsible for creating, implementing, and delivering curriculum that aligns with NCCER, OSHA, and forklift technician industry standards.

*This role is subject to a 12-hour week of instruction and training, over a 16-week semester, with this pattern continuing in subsequent semesters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cross Credit Industrial leadership and sitepartners to develop, and refine the Forklift Technician curriculum in alignment with NCCER, OSHA, and forklift technician industry standards.
  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction and hands‑on training related to forklift maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Prepare students for evaluations and assessments.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of training equipment and materials.
  • Stay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in forklift technology and technician training.
  • Frequent interaction with staff, students, industry partners, and the public.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience that satisfies one of the following three options:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Forklift Technician; or
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Lead or Supervisory Technician; or
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Technical Trainer or Instructor.
  • Strong knowledge of forklift systems, hydraulics, brake systems, electrical systems, batteries, masts, attachments, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to deliver effective classroom and hands‑on instruction.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
  • Certifications to teach OSHA 10, NCCER Core Safety, and Forklift Operator training programs.
  • Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials preferred.
  • Experience working with industry companies, community colleges, and workforce development programs.
