Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a licensed psychologist to evaluate and diagnose inmates and detainees for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders within a correctional setting. You will coordinate mental health services and supervise staff as needed.

Responsibilities include providing psychotherapy, making referrals to psychiatrists, documenting services, and contributing to treatment plans that support rehabilitation and safety. A Ph.D. or Psy.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an accredited University.
• Current license in Psychology in the state where the facility is located or licensure/certification per contract requirements.
• Two years of correctional work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mental health functions, including supervising and training staff.
• Examine and treat detainees to ensure proper mental health care and recovery.
• Provide psychotherapy or counseling for psychological disorders.
• Refer to a psychiatrist as needed.
• Document services and notes in patient medical records.
• Instruct staff in recognizing suicide risk factors.
