WEST LIBERTY COMM SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Part Time Food Service Worker for 2.5 hours per day (11:00 AM - 1:30 PM, 10 months). Responsibilities include food prep, serving, replenishing meal supplies, and assisting with kitchen cleanup during the school day.

Qualifications

• Physically able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods.
• Able to work in warm surroundings.
• Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, choppers, and scales.
• Able to lift materials weighing up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Assumes responsibility for replenishing the supply of foods during meal service periods.
• Assist in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service areas.

Job Description: Assist with preparing and serving food in a quick and pleasant manner. Assumes responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods, the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly. Assists in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service areas. Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the head cook. Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused food. Use various kitchen equipment such as dish machines, ovens, slicers, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, choppers, and scales. Is able to lift materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
Educational Qualifications: It is required that each cook complete the Basic Iowa School Food Service Short Course and Short Course II or an acceptable substitute approved by the superintendent.
