Job summary

Grayson County Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Worker for the Grayson County High cafeteria. Under supervision, you will assist in meal preparation and serving to students and staff, maintain sanitation, and follow safety rules as required by VDH.

This role requires reliability, basic math for portions, and the ability to interact positively with students and staff. Certification in ServeSafe or willingness to obtain it is required, and the ideal candidate will be familiar

Part-Time Food Service Worker

Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Cafeteria Manager, Principal, and Supervisor of Food Services performs all duties of the cafeteria food service worker.

Essential Functions

• Knows and understands all cafeteria tasks
• Recognizes and understands all VDH requirements and regulations
• Holds or be willing to obtain ServeSafe Food Handler Certification
• Prepares and serves meals to students and staff
• Appropriately interact with students and staff
• Routine cleaning within the kitchen and cafeteria
• Routine cleaning within the kitchen and cafeteria

Additional Duties

• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Safety Requirements

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Salary based on the 2026-27 Salary Scale, $15/hr - $19.06/hr dependent upon relevant experience.
