Job summary

RISD Dining and Catering is seeking temporary, part-time Food Service Workers to support its self-operated dining department across campus locations. Responsibilities include food prep, station setup, customer service, cash handling, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of food service experience, with strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a restaurant, college or café-style food service environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good oral communications skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Ability to move between different campus operations daily as required.
• Diligence in following health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete basic kitchen, commissary and catering items to specifications.
• Assist in ingredient prep: wash, peel, cut, handle, present and store items.
• Set up and break down dining locations and service areas across campus.
• Maintain health code procedures including temperature control and sanitation.
• Operate dish machines and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Serve customers courteously and handle cash/register duties as needed.
