Job summary

PHI Health, LLC is seeking an experienced Flight Paramedic to join its West Lafayette roster. The role delivers advanced pre-hospital and in‑flight medical care during rapid response and transport for critically ill or injured patients.

The successful candidate will hold active paramedic certification, 3+ years of 911/pre-hospital experience, and relevant clinical certifications. You will work under Medical Director oversight, with shift-based duties, bonuses, and continuing education allowances.

Qualifications

  • Active paramedic certification in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS certifications; NRP preferred.
  • Instructor certifications preferred.
  • FP‑C certification within 24 months of hire.
  • Flight or transport experience preferred.
  • Must complete PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
  • Effective human relations skills for interfacing with personnel and external customers.
  • Basic computer skills for e‑mail and electronic charting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Pass pre‑placement physical exam, including functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background check.
  • Maintain body weight below 235 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment of patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and/or ground.
  • Document appropriate and accurate information for assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transport during patient care.
  • Document accurate and complete billing information of patient transports.
  • Maintain effective and timely communication between management, internal, and external customers.
  • Participate in activities that support public relations and marketing efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge base for the flight paramedic role by attending mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education sessions related to the care and transport of critically ill and/or injured patients.
  • Complete all annual recurrent competency requirements.
  • Maintain an active paramedic certification and all other certifications required by policy.
  • Clinically function under the licensure of the program’s Medical Director.
  • Independently report to the program’s Manager of Clinical Services and the National Director of Clinical Standards.
  • Define knowledge of and perform within the regulations and scope of practice of the local Department of Health Services.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation includes competitive base pay, shift bonuses, shift incentives, an annual safety bonus, an annual employee bonus, and more. Clinicians are eligible for an annual continuing education allowance.
