Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach First-Year Experience courses. The position is part-time and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities include preparing syllabi and materials, delivering engaging learning activities, grading, maintaining attendance records, and coaching students. Applicants should be able to respond to community needs and coordinate with college leadership as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in any subject area.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).
• Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
• Appropriately responds to the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

• Teaches First-Year Experience courses.
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
• Evaluates and grades students’ work, attendance, and deadlines.
• Be available to students for coaching.
• Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors or college leadership.
