Job summary

B&H Fire and Security is seeking a Part-Time CAD Drafter to support our project management team with design drawings for fire protection systems. You will create floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and a permit-ready submittal, working onsite in Snohomish County, Washington.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years of CAD drafting experience and can read architectural and electrical schematics. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office is required, and some remote communication

• 1+ years of CAD drafting experience (entry-to-mid level welcome).
• Ability to read architectural floor plans, structural layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and basic MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, comprehensive fire alarm system layouts, device placements, riser diagrams, and battery calculations using AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, and field technicians to update markups and resolve design clashes.
• Assemble and organize submittal packages for AHJ review and ensure timely delivery across multiple projects.
• Maintain efficiency to meet deadlines while ensuring compliance with local fire codes and NFPA standards.

B&H Fire and Security is looking for a Part-Time CAD Drafter. We are seeking a detail- oriented, part-time CAD Drafter to support our project management team with design drawings. This part-time employee will create technical floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and design a permit-ready submittal for commercial fire protection systems. Hourly Rate dependent on experience. Canadiate must be willing to commute to an onsite position located in Snohomish County, Washington.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare clear, comprehensive fire alarm system layouts, device placements, riser diagrams, and battery calculations using AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Coordinate directly with project managers, system designers, and field technicians to update markups and resolve design clashes
• Assemble and organize complete submittal packages for AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) review
• Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines across multiple concurrent jobs
• Ensuring compliance with local fire codes, NFPA standards, and project specifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail, independent work ethic, and clear remote communication skills
• 1+ years of experience drafting (entry-to-mid level candidates welcome)
• Ability to read and translate architectural floor plans, structural layouts, and electrical schematics
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Etc) and PDF markup tools
• Onsite position; Commute to office located in Snohomish County, Washington
