Maryland Institute College of Art seeks a Part Time Video Cage Assistant to support the JHU/MICA Film Center operations. You will manage equipment checkout, provide basic tech support, and supervise student workers during shifts. The position emphasizes service, safety, and hands-on training in film equipment usage, with evening and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Strong supervisory, management and administrative skills.
Direct experience in advanced video, film and sound production.
Proficiency in audio field recording.
Experience with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, AVID Media Composer, AVID ProTools, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day operation of the equipment cage during scheduled part-time shifts.
Create and maintain a positive, service oriented environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Assist in implementing programmatic goals with operational collaboration.
Enforce cage equipment access policy; assess user eligibility in the reservation system.
Supervise and train student employees and work-study staff during shifts.
Deliver basic instructional workshops and hands-on demos for equipment use.
