National University is seeking part-time faculty for the Master of Social Work program to support online instruction with remote access. The role emphasizes teaching excellence and serving NU’s diverse adult student body.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Academic Program Director, provide timely feedback, manage grading and assessment, and contribute to maintaining high program quality and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a focus in Social Work and 18 Social Work coursework.
• At least 2 years of direct teaching experience at the master and/or doctoral level.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• 3+ years of professional and/or research experience in Social Work.
• Ability to facilitate online instruction remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (grades, assessment, rubrics, appeals).
• Maintain professional training and scholarly activities when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead about course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Position Summary

The Department of Social Work, in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences, at National University, invites applications for part-time faculty in Master of Social Work. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the NU’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications

Required:

• Master’s degree with a focus in Social Work or a related field and 18 credit hours of Social Work coursework from a regionally accredited institution.
• Minimum two (2) years of direct teaching experience at the master and/or doctoral level.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Three plus (3+) years of professional and/or research experience in Social Work.
• Must have personal computer and ability to facilitate online instruction and communications remotely.

Preferred:

• Doctoral degree with focus in Social Work.
• Research-based, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article publications.
• Curriculum development experience.
• Experience guiding students through the dissertation process.
• Experience in higher education.
• Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise.
