Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Humanities. The department will review applications in this pool as needs arise for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

* This list may not be inclusive; the Division Dean, in consultation with SAC, will determine applicability of degrees outside this list. The Department Chair can determine the applicability of a degree to teaching a specific Humanities course.
Provisional Approval
A part-time instructor without a Master’s or Doctorate may be approved if they have 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the subject area and are actively pursuing the degree, with anticipated degree attainment within six months of hire (a letter from the advisor is required and kept on file).

Part-time Faculty Compensation at PCC
Newly hired Part-time Faculty generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based upon course type (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). For more information, review the Part-time Faculty Salary Schedule on PCC’s Compensation page.
