University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy invites part-time faculty for Spring 2027 to teach required or elective courses within the pharmacy curriculum. Responsibilities include preparing outlines, delivering interactive lectures, and grading assessments in-person, online, or hybrid formats.

Educators will collaborate with department colleagues, adhere to the UIW Faculty Handbook, and support student learning outside class time. This pool will hire as needed during Spring 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in higher education preferred.

Position Summary

The Feik School of Pharmacy invites part-time faculty candidates for Faculty in Pharmacy Practice for spring 2027 assignment. Position will teachrequired or elective courses as needed within the pharmacy curriculumIn all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the university include teaching with service and professional activities as assigned.

This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested part-time faculty as needed during spring 2027.

Essential Functions

Basic Instructional Duties:

1. Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi; flexibility to teach in-person, online, or hybrid format.
2. Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive lectures.
3. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses.
4. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.
5. Be available outside of class to help students learn as well as answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically).
6. Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
7. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
8. Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Required Work Experience

At least one (1) year of professional pharmacy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience teaching.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

Current valid licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas, or valid by date of assignment.

Work Hours

Based on course assignment.
