Job summary

PACS is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain clean, safe, and orderly spaces in a post-acute healthcare environment. You will clean public areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, and corridors, using proper procedures to prevent odors and hazards while following safety guidelines.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and good communication. No supervisory duties; high school diploma preferred; healthcare housekeeping experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand procedure manuals and directions.
• Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with varied situations where standardization is limited.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
