Job summary

Phipps Houses and Affiliates is seeking a part-time custodian to keep the facility clean, safe, healthy and sanitary for children, staff and visitors. You will sweep, mop, clean vents and surfaces, monitor facility safety, and report plumbing issues promptly.

Schedule: Mon., Fri., 2:00pm to 7:00pm — 25 hours per week. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma) and prior experience with cleaning facilities and general repairs. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Experience with cleaning facilities and general repairs.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• General Equivalency Diploma or better.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, Mop and dispose of garbage daily.
• Clean vents, windows, surfaces and ledges weekly.
• Monitor the facility for safety issues.
• Report plumbing issues, leaks, etc. to the program supervisor immediately.
• Place custodial supply orders.
• Attend all relevant staff meetings and training activities.
• Communicate with all staff, parents, children and members of community in a polite and respectful manner so as to represent the program in a professional way.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
