Job summary

The City of Fairhope is seeking a part-time custodian to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of city buildings and facilities. You will operate cleaning equipment, maintain supply inventories, and prepare materials as needed.

Essential duties include cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, restocking supplies, and performing basic maintenance. Candidates should be capable of light lifting, driving to sites, and passing a background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of custodial and facility maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Current and valid driver’s license; insurable.
• Ability to work non-standard hours.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize facilities, including restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors, and maintain cleanliness of surfaces.
• Restock paper items and cleaning supplies; report inventory needs.
• Wipe down windows, dust furniture, and clean fixtures.
• Open/close buildings and assist with basic maintenance tasks as needed.
