Odessa College is seeking a part-time CNA instructor to prepare students for CNA exams and fieldwork. Classes meet evenings (6-9pm) twice weekly with clinicals on two weekends per term at an assisted living facility. LVN or RN with 3+ years of LTC experience is required; teaching experience is welcomed but not required.

Employment contingent on enrollment per term. Instructor will use Blackboard and face-to-face teaching, manage up to 10 students per cohort, and handle grading and attendance.

Formación

• Teaching experience is not required, but any teaching or training experience is considered.
• LVN or RN required.
• At least three (3) years of LVN or RN experience in a Long Term Care facility setting.

Responsabilidades

• Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations.
• Implements evaluation for outcomes assessment, and achieves established results while maintaining college standards of student satisfaction.
• Works creatively and collaboratively with classes to ensure student persistence.
• Begin and end each class at the designated times, providing a full period of instruction.
• Responsible for keeping the classroom and/or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user.
• Provide support to students requiring additional academic assistance and tutoring.
• Submits at designated times, grades for all students on the class roster.
• Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, submits class roster daily, maintains a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and turned in at the end of the term.
• Calls all students who are absent and submits written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director.
• May be required to attend adjunct instructor trainings, in-service meetings, and other college events.
• Other duties as assigned.
