Job summary

Columbia State Community College invites applications for Part-Time Faculty in English and Reading. Faculty teach up to nine credit hours per semester across five campuses and various off‑campus sites.

Applicants must have a Master’s in English and a Bachelor’s in Reading or related field with relevant graduate coursework, or teaching licenses K-6/K-8. Salary is $560 per credit hour with adjustments for courses exceeding contact hours.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English (or related field with 18 graduate hours in English).
• Bachelor’s degree in Reading or English (or related field with 18 hours in Reading or English or teaching licenses K-6 or K-8).

Responsibilities

• Preparing for courses as assigned and adhering to departmental syllabi and outcomes.
• Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled.
• Organizing and supervising learning activities for students.
• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to foster learning.
• Maintaining attendance records and timely grade reporting.
• Reading Columbia State email and replying to student questions.
• Meeting deadlines for administrative tasks and enrollment paperwork.
