Job summary

Brightmont Academy seeks a Part Time English & Social Studies Teacher to provide personalized one-to-one instruction for students in grades 1–12. The role offers ~20 hours per week with a flexible schedule and compensation of $22–$24 per hour.

Responsibilities center on tailored, student-focused teaching within Brightmont’s 1:1 model, with no required lesson planning or external work. Prior teaching experience and a passion for student success are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics or related subject area.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Patience and empathy; ability to support diverse learners.
• Ability to provide fingerprints and pass a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach students one-to-one, tailoring lessons to individual needs and learning styles.
• Deliver instruction with Brightmont's 1:1 model and focus on student mastery.
• Be prepared to adapt pacing and materials to each learner without extra lesson planning.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in your subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics—anything that fuels your passion!).
• Patience & Empathy: You understand that every student learns differently, and you’re committed to supporting them every step of the way.
• A Heart for Teaching: A genuine passion to share your subject with the next generation.
