Job summary

Ridgecrest Regional Hospital is seeking dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for part-time as-needed work in Ridgecrest, CA. You will assess emergencies, provide on-scene care and transport, communicate clearly with patients and teammates, and ensure equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include documentation, vehicle upkeep, and adherence to RRH protocols. Ideal candidates hold a CA EMT certification, CPR-BLS, clean driving record, and DMV H6 report.

Qualifications

• Current California State EMT Certification.
• CPR for BLS Provider Certification.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Medical Examiner’s Certification.
• Ambulance Driver’s Certification.
• DMV H6 Report meeting insurance standards.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong physical fitness, including the ability to lift up to 250 pounds infrequently and 150 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, self-motivated, and adaptable in high-stress situations.
• Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with patients, families, coworkers, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care on-site and during transport.
• Conduct patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and administer approved pre-hospital treatment.
• Maintain and restock ambulances and emergency equipment.
• Document patient interactions and complete required reports accurately and timely.
• Follow all RRH, state, and DOT protocols and guidelines.
• Attend required trainings and maintain current certifications.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections and maintenance.
