Job summary

The Atlanta-Fulton County Zoo is seeking a part-time Emergency Medical Technician to provide primary care to staff and guests for first aid, breathing emergencies, animal bites, and sudden illnesses. EMTs report to the Manager of Medical Response Programs.

Responsibilities include delivering first aid, maintaining radio contact, documenting care, inspecting supplies, and supporting safety initiatives. The role requires minimum one year EMS experience, a high school diploma, and valid Georgia

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year EMS experience.
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies.
• Excellent organization and verbal/written communication.
• Demonstrate computer proficiency for records.
• Ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Bilingual preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and provide first aid within scope of practice.
• Interact courteously with guests and staff seeking assistance.
• Maintain radio contact with dispatch for rapid response.
• Document and maintain detailed records of interactions and treatment.
• Keep work area clean and follow disinfection protocols.
• Assist with inspections of medical supplies, AEDs and equipment.
• Support the Director of Occupational Health & Safety with projects.
• Work flexible hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Support Zoo Atlanta's Vision, Mission and Values.
• Accept other duties as assigned by management.
