Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) for a part-time/PRN role at our Norfolk site. You will respond to emergencies, provide basic first aid, assess injuries, and coordinate with medical teams to ensure safe patient care.

Ideal candidates hold EMT-B certification, current CPR/AED, and have prior 911 or first responder experience. This is a flexible, on-site position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• EMT State Certification and/or National Registry; proof of reciprocity required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• 1st response or emergency 911 experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Responding to emergencies efficiently and promptly
• Administering basic first aid and medical support to patients, in accordance with federal, state, local and company policy and regulations
• Assessing the nature and extent of injuries/illnesses to prioritize medical procedures
• Effectively communicating with medical professionals and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further action
• Effectively communicating with client and site personnel regarding any worksite incidents, hazards, etc.
• Demonstrating a strong orientation towards team work and the ability to understand the importance of team coordinated efforts
• Demonstrating a strong ability to be cognizant of the constantly changing worksite environment and construction site hazards
• Ensuring that quality, clinical standards are practiced at all times
• Documenting all findings and treatments clearly and concisely
• Conducting oneself in a helpful, dignified and professional manner regardless of stress level and personal circumstances
• Assisting the Site Safety Managers and Personnel in maintaining the most safe and secure work environment possible
