What You’ll Do:

• Respond to emergency calls and provide essential medical care to patients in need.
• Administer appropriate medical treatment according to protocols and guidelines.
• Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients in various settings.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and responders.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to transport, equipment, supplies, and incidents.
• Comply with continuing education and licensure requirements.
• Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, and demeanor.
• Inspect and report issues with vehicles and equipment, and assist in maintenance.
• Participate in public education, training, and community safety programs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License
• Completion of EMT program and Illinois Department of Public Health License
• Ability to complete continuing education and testing
• Firefighter Certifications (for Firefighter applicants)
• Successful background check
• Pass pre-employment tests including physical, drug screening, and agility tests

Preferred Certifications (not required):

• ACLS
• PALS/PEPP
• PHTLS/BTLS/ITLS
• CPR Instructor
