Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Wyoming is seeking an RN Coordinator/Specialist for the Emergency Department to coordinate patient care, support clinical operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role partners with nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary teams to deliver timely, high-quality emergency care.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) and requires active RN licensure, ADN (BSN preferred), BLS, ACLS, and prior ED experience.

Qualifications

• ADN is required for the role.
• BSN or higher preferred.
• Current RN licensure in state of practice or compact state required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency patient care delivery to ensure timely evaluation, treatment, and safe transition of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care interventions.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to ED nursing and support staff.
• Conduct daily rounding to assess care quality, patient needs, and support nursing workflows.
• Assist with patient and family education, discharge planning, and community resource coordination.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives, including audits and process improvements.
• Ensure regulatory readiness and compliance with EMTALA, Joint Commission, CMS, and state standards.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, EMS, and hospital leadership.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
