Job summary

Moorestown Township Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support certified staff and nurture the personal, social-emotional, behavioral and intellectual development of students in a PK-3 setting at South Valley Elementary School.

The role requires a High School Diploma or higher, strong communication, collaboration, and technology skills, and the ability to work with diverse learners. The position is a 10-month contract with salary range provided by the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or above.
• Ability to work with children and adults.
• Ability to perform assigned duties and follow directions.
• Understanding of child growth and development as applied to diverse needs of students.
• Knowledge and ability to use technology and related software.
• Good interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists the classroom teacher in the use of all print and electronic materials for instruction.
• Provides academic assistance to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Provide prompting, cueing, and redirecting student participation to the tasks assigned.
• Helps students who are absent or who need additional assistance with work assignments.
• Works with individual children or small groups in reteaching, reinforcing and reviewing after instruction.
• Monitors classroom behavior and assists in programs such as health/physical education and related arts.
