Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council in Houston is seeking a Part-Time Community Outreach Associate for the 2026-2027 school year (Sept–May). This Outreach Associate will conduct the Inspire Me program for elementary girls in the Houston, Pasadena, and Willis areas, exposing them to arts, entrepreneurship, outdoors, STEM and more.

Qualifications include being dependable and energetic, strong public speaking, and a valid Texas driver’s license with insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the Inspire Me program for elementary girls in the Houston, Pasadena, and Willis areas.
  • Present curriculum across arts, entrepreneurship, outdoors, STEM and more.
  • Weekly transport of program supplies to and from the Girl Scouts Center as needed.
  • Drive between schools 2–4 days per week; occasional weekend camp.
  • Lift and transport supplies 20–50 pounds as needed.

Part-Time Community Outreach Associate - Houston Metro area

2026-2027 School Year (September- May)

An Outreach Associate is someone who is seeking a part-time position to develop a career in community outreach with a transformational nonprofit. This Outreach Associate will conduct the Girl Scouts Inspire Me program while presenting contemporary issues curriculum for elementary aged school girls in the Houston, Pasadena, and Willis areas. Through our programming, girls are exposed to a vast array of educational topics such as the arts, entrepreneurship, the outdoors, STEM and more. In Girl Scouts, girls learn what it takes to be a leader. The leadership program for girls is based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience model, which allows girls to discover a positive value system and a strong sense of self, connect with others, build healthy relationships, identify causes that are meaningful, and take action to make the world a better place.

Qualifications:

  • Dependable, enthusiastic, organized and energetic
  • Have strong public speaking skills. Confident presenting to sometimes large groups of school girls
  • Prefer candidates who reside in Central Houston
  • Ability to engage and relate to girls of various ethnicities, demographics, and age
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver's license and proof of insurance
  • Weekly pick up and transport of program supplies to and from the Girl Scouts Center, as needed
  • Must be available to work 2-4 days per week and have reliable transportation for scheduled workdays in order to drive between schools (if needed), and 1 weekend overnight camp per school season.
  • Must be available for varied hours- between 7:00AM to 4:30PM for day programs (hours vary by school), OR a few evening hours for schools with after school programs
  • Able to lift and transport supplies between 20 -50 pounds as needed
  • Prior experience working/volunteering with youth preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). This is highly desirable but not required.
  • A high school graduate minimum is required, some college or degree preferred.
