Shaw Elementary in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District is seeking a part-time School and Recess Monitor. The role is .375 FTE with supervision duties during lunch and recess to ensure safety and conduct, both indoors and outdoors. Shift is 10:40 AM to 1:40 PM on school days.

Starting wage is $17.45 per hour. A valid Alaska Driver's License is required. Responsibilities include guiding students, monitoring equipment use, and assisting with basic clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• A valid Alaska Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors student activities during lunch periods and recess (both indoors and outdoors) to ensure appropriate behavior and safety; directs students in proper use of school equipment/facilities; intervenes in student arguments/fights.
• Intercepts unfamiliar personnel on school grounds, requests identification and/or directs them to the school office.
• Assists instructors in providing first aid to students and/or accompanies injured students to the school nurse.
• May perform basic clerical and/or support duties including providing library or office assistance (e.g., filing, copying, answering phones, sorting/distributing mail).
