Job summary

Newton Public Schools is seeking a skilled and collaborative pianist to accompany Grade 4 and Grade 5 chorus classes at an elementary school in Newton. The accompanist will work two hours per week, 9:00–11:00 a.m.

on Wednesdays, providing piano accompaniment for warm-ups, repertoire, and choral activities. There are opportunities for additional paid hours for chorus practices and concerts throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Accompany Grade 4 and Grade 5 chorus classes with piano for rehearsals and instruction.
• Provide piano accompaniment for vocal warm-ups, repertoire, and other choral activities.
• Support the choral teacher and collaborate to create a positive classroom environment.
• Opportunities for additional paid hours for chorus practices and concerts throughout the year.
