Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator to lead before- and after-school programs at local schools. You’ll create safe, engaging activities that blend learning with play and nurture each child’s curiosity.

Shift hours are Monday–Friday with a split schedule (07:00–08:30 and 14:50–18:00). Pay ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on education and experience, with up to 23.33 hours per week and occasional travel between district sites.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing daily activities.
• Willingness to lift up to 25 lbs and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize daily activities and curriculum aligned with program goals.
• Facilitate structured daily fitness and enrichment activities for children.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment and model positive behavior.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school contacts.
• Ensure attendance, incidents, and observations are properly documented.

Educator Pay Rate:

$15.00-$18.00 (based on education and experience)

Program Hours

Schedule: Monday-Friday, split shift

Morning shift: 07:00 AM-08:30 AM

Afternoon shift: 02:50 PM-06:00 PM

This role may be scheduled for up to 23.33 hours per week.

You will have a "home base" location but can be asked to go to different schools within the district.

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
• Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

Ohio State Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
• First Aid and CPR-in-person
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
