Right At School is hiring an Educator for the 2026-2027 school year at Metamora Grade School in Illinois. The role focuses on before/after school enrichment, with activities designed to inspire a love of learning and support schools and families.

The Educator will lead daily activities, ensure safety, and communicate with children, parents, and staff. Requires 1+ year of childcare experience, a High School diploma/GED, and First Aid/CPR to be obtained if needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 in a childcare/school setting.
• Must meet state-specific requirements.
• 18+ years of age; High School diploma or GED required.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives.
• Organize and facilitate daily activities and age-appropriate fitness and curriculum.
• Model positive guidance and create a safe, nurturing environment.
• Monitor safety, document attendance and incidents, and follow protocols.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Educator

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students!

Educator: Up to $18.00 per hour (based on education & experience)

Locations: Metamora Grade School

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 8:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm*

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 years of age in a childcare group type setting
• Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
• At least 1 year of verifiable experience working with children under 13 years of age in a childcare/school setting
• First Aid and CPR-in-person (if required-ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Cleared tuberculosis test (if required-ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Proof of MMR (if required can documentation can be provided)
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
