Right At School is seeking an Educator in New Jersey to join our before- and after-school extended day programs. The role focuses on age-appropriate activities, safety, and fostering a love of learning.

The Educator position features a Monday–Friday split shift (7:00 AM–8:40 AM and 3:10 PM–6:00 PM), with up to 22.92 hours weekly and pay between $16.00 and $19.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. NJ state requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or youth programs is a plus.
• Team environment collaboration is essential.
• Ability to engage and supervise children under 13 years old.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Review daily goals and updates in program meetings.

• Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and age-appropriate lessons.

Educator Pay Rate: $16.00-$19.00 (based on education and experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Split Shift

Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 8:40 AM

Afternoon Shift: 3:10 PM – 6:00 PM

This role may be scheduled for up to 22.92 hours per week

You’ll Drive The Mission By

• Daily Program Meetings: Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates Will Have The Following

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
• Works well in a team environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
• Ability to lift 25lbs
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

New Jersey State Requirements

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;
• First Aid and CPR-inperson
• Cleared tuberculosis test
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
