Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division invites applications for an Educational Assistant I at Kelliher School. This temporary part-time role covers one day per week with six hours and ten minutes of work, at an hourly rate of $22.91–$26.79.

Ideal candidates will have Grade 12 or equivalent and relevant certificates, with training in First Aid/CPR, crisis intervention, and lifting techniques. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential to support students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• ECE/EA certificate or diploma preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and AED training required or in progress.
• Specialized training in supporting students with differing abilities.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is preferred.
• Transfer, Lift and Repositioning training is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to students and promote independence.
• Assist students to develop daily living and academic skills.
• Support teachers with small group and one-on-one reinforcement activities.
• Document progress in student plans and participate in conferences.
• Promote positive behaviour and social interactions guided by plans.
• Collaborate with the student team to ensure learning occurs in the least restrictive environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the School Administrator.
