Campbell County Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom activities. The role involves helping small groups, assisting students needing extra help, and handling clerical tasks to keep the classroom organized.

The position requires qualification beyond high school or equivalent and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training and supervision are provided within a school setting.

Qualifications

• 48 college credit hours or Para Educator test is required.
• Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry a 50 lb. student.

Responsabilités

• Under supervision of the certified teacher, prepares for classroom activities.
• Works with small groups to reinforce material.
• Assists individual children in need of special attention.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Guides independent study, enrichment, and remedial work set by the teacher.
• Sets up audio-visual equipment.
• Assists with non-instructional classroom duties (snack, toilet, clothing).
• Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and make-up work.
• Assists in drill work and reading/storytelling.
• Supports small groups in the library and participates in in-service training.
• Other tasks may be assigned.

JOB GOAL:

To provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under supervision of the certified teacher, prepares for classroom activities.
• Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assists individual children in need of special attention.
• Performs clerical duties.
