Job summary

Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, is seeking applicants for a pool of part-time University Supervisors in the School of Education. Positions determined by need for Fall and Spring 2026-27; rank and salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.

The University Supervisor will coordinate with cooperating teachers, make observations, evaluate candidates, confer on performance, and assist with issues during the clinical experience; annual professional development is required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be credentialed or have equivalent experience in educator preparation as well as be expert in the content area of the teacher candidate being supervised.
• For Educational Leadership and Administration Program, minimum requirements are a MA in Educational Leadership or closely related field, possession of or eligibility for the CA Administrative Services credential, and five years of experience as a K-12 school administrator.

Responsibilities

• shall develop and maintain a professional working relationship among cooperating teachers, school administrators, school staff, and teacher candidates
• shall make at least four observations per quarter of the teacher candidate as specified by the program coordinator
• shall evaluate teacher candidate using the program approved process
• shall confer with the teacher candidate and cooperating teacher on topics pertinent to the teacher candidate's performance
• shall assist the teacher candidate and cooperating teacher regarding problems that may arise during the clinical experience
• shall assign and submit a grade for clinical experience
• must participate in an annual process of professional development
• may be involved in Teacher Performance Assessment. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base.
