Job Description

Primary Purpose:
To provide for the delivery of technical assistance and professional development in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the area of Elementary RLA. Utilize an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student, campus, and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Texas teaching certification required

Working Conditions:

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standing
  • Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional driving

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provides effective, research-based instructional support and coaching in RLA for Region 16 campuses and districts aligned with the ESC model. Accurately documents technical assistance. Delivers essential professional development, utilizing expertise to enhance instructional practices, with a focus on designing and delivering engaging sessions, whether face-to-face or through alternative methods.
  • Provides content, best practices and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support improvement of instructional practices for monitoring and evaluating student learning.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection to provide quality services to customers that positively impact student learning.
  • Sets, modifies, and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment, reflection, peer and supervisor feedback, contemporary research, and analysis of student learning.
  • Manages a state or federal grant, if applicable, and follows all guidelines and timelines outlined in the grant.
  • Provides state-mandated trainings, if applicable
  • Creates on-going collegial relationships with customers.
  • Travels as a part of job responsibilities.
  • Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly.
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities.
  • Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16.
  • Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters.
  • Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC strategic plan.
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program.
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manages time, calendar, and job responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor.
  • Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $35.68 to $43.78 IP-3
