Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Economics. Responsibilities include teaching 3–9 credit hours, advising, and delivering high-quality course content on campus.

Affiliate faculty are hired per credit hour on a semester basis, not eligible for university benefits, and assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified applicants should hold an MA/MS in Economics or related field and meet policy

Qualifications

• M.A. or M.S. in Economics, Applied Economics, Agri‑Econ Economics, or a related field earned within the last 6 years.
• Meet College of Business Faculty Qualifications Policy criteria to be classified as SA, PA, or IP.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3‑9 credit hours.
• Be available for consultation with students.
• Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Develop and deliver course content, prepare materials and lesson plans, grade student work, provide timely feedback, address student questions, and provide academic support as needed.
• Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the syllabus and with department course coordination policies.
• Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies.
• Adapt and learn new modes of instruction.

Education

M.A. or M.S. in Economics, Applied Economics, Agri-Econ Economics, or a related field earned within the last 6 years

ABD or Ph.D. within the last 6 years with at least one publication in a journal listed in ABDC or Cabell’s or a refereed book chapter and at least one conference presentation
