Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in the Department of Economics. Positions are non-tenure track, per credit hour assignments, usually on a semester-by-semester basis, with teaching on campus upon hire.

Final salary is based on credit hours assigned at university pay rates ($1,233–$1,512 per credit). Affiliate faculty are hired without benefits, and postings remain open until filled.

Qualifications

• MA or MS in Economics, Applied Economics, Agri‑Econ Economics, or a related field within the last 6 years.
• Meet College of Business Faculty Qualifications Policy criteria to be classified as SA, PA, or IP.
• ABD or Ph.D. within the last 6 years with a record of at least one publication in ABDC or Cabell's, or a refereed book chapter and at least one conference presentation.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3 - 9 credit hours.
• Be available for consultation with students.
• Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students.
• Preparing course materials and lesson plans.
• Grading student work.
• Providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner.
• Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
• Providing online or in person academic support to students as needed.
• Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and objectives of the course syllabus.
