Job summary

Palomar College’s Earth, Space and Environmental Sciences department seeks qualified part-time instructors to teach Earth Science with Oceanography and Geology offerings. Teaching assignments may occur day, evening, weekend across San Marcos and off-campus sites, including distance education.

Initial placement hourly range is $75.81–$119.20 for instructional work; applicants must hold a Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under 1) through 3).
• Master’s in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology.
• You must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form if you do not possess the specific minimum qualifications as stated above, which includes degrees that have not been awarded at the time of submitting the application.

Responsibilities

• Teach Earth Science courses (Oceanography and Geology) within the approved curriculum.
• Prepare and deliver lectures and assessments for part-time instruction.
• Assist students in understanding Earth Science concepts and laboratory work.
