Job summary

Child Development Schools in Wilmington, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will support the Lead Teacher with age-appropriate activities, create a warm, safe classroom, and help children develop curiosity and confidence through hands-on learning and positive daily routines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Toddler or Preschool classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
